Statement From The Enlightenment Community

African-American spiritual guru and martial arts master Vernon Kitabu Turner was raised as a Christian. In 1967, after a chance meeting, he became a Zen initiate of master Nomura Roshi, and eventually the Dharma son of Himalayan master Sadguru Sant Keshavadas. His previous books include Kung Fu: The Master:The Book of Kitabu (1975), The Secret of Freedom (1982), Soul Sword: The Way and Mind of a Zen Warrior (2011), and Soul to Soul: Harnessing the Power of Your Mind (2006). His latest book is Under The Sword: Life Lessons for the Zen Warrior in You (2012). In 1982, Master Sant Keshavadas charged him with bridging the gap between East and West, a mission he has undertaken ever since.

Among presenters featured on the global network were Andrew Cohen, Deepak Chopra, Lama Surya Das, Father Thomas Keating and Roshi Kitabu Turner, who spoke on the topic, Zen, Martial Arts and Personal Power, the theme of his new book, Under The Sword.
