Adopted Star-Child

Joseph was all set to marry Mary when she turned up pregnant. He thought to quietly call off the marriage but an angel of the Lord revealed to him that the baby was placed in her by the Holy Spirit. Joseph accepted the news and continued his relationship with Mary. He was told to name the child, Jesus, because he would save his people from their sins.

Although he knew he wasn’t Jesus‘s real father, Joseph took on the role of protector and provider of the young child. He moved the family to Egypt to escape King Herod‘s murderous reach.
Jesus spent his early years as a carpenter‘s son. At age 12 he displayed signs that he knew who his real father was.

Joseph was the original foster parent. He took on a tremendous responsibility with grace and love. We can learn from Joseph about stepping up for children. We make a difference. The child makes a difference. In the case of Jesus, The Star-Child, he made all the difference in the world,
